Looper v1.1.0 Update


A big thank you to everyone who played Looper, both during Ludum Dare 47 and after. It's been a little longer than I thought, but here is the new version with many changes and news!

New Content

Enemy AI

As I announced in the old devlog, now the enemy has a complex AI. He wanders around the map, search, chase and shoot the player. Now you have a real enemy besides yourself.

New Maps and Weapons

As requested by many, I have added 3 new maps, a tutorial and 3 new special weapons. You can find a special weapon every few loops and all of them permanently destroy your past selves.

Score System

I have changed the score system several times to make it as balanced as possible. There are now 2 ways to get points:

  • shoot your past self: +30 points
  • shoot the enemy: + 5 points

If you fail to shoot the enemy within 10 seconds, the points made during that loop are lost. If you fail 3 times (represented by the 3 green gems below the timer), the game ends.

Death Replay

After a few loops, the game can get quite chaotic. In this new version there's a replay that shows you the last moments before the game over. It will never happen again to die without knowing how it happened.

Other Changes

  • added new sound effects and a music theme
  • redesigned the game map
  • added new animations and particles
  • ui redesigned
  • bugfixes and optimizations
