The other characters vote are based on your previous actions and their own morals.
Spoiler alert from here on out!!
You can survive the vote in different ways, depending on who's left in the game:
Talk to Richard before the vote, agree to his deal, and follow his lead in voting out the remaining participant.
Tell Sarah to stay in the game during the first break, and give a positive response to the morality question. Then, vote out the remaining participant.
If you've answered the second round question with a morally psoitive answer, there's less chance Edgar and Sarah will vote for you, while with a morally negative answer decreases the chance of Richard voting for you.
Even if you agree to Richard's deal and then betray him, there's a small chance of not being voted out (depends on who else is left and how you've played up to that point).
Hey! My friend and loved watching the game from 8Bit-Ryan. We noticed that you got the answer wrong about the inspiration for Norman Bates. It was Ed Gein that was the inspiration, not Ted Bundy
A glitch occured while I was playing the game. After the 1st minigame 2 players tied for the loss and the game didn't know how to handle it. This caused a glitch where no one would say anything effectively soft locking the game.
Update: I managed to beat the game but honestly I didn't enjoy my time. The last minigame just felt too much for me even if the audience was just cardboard cutouts and with only 3 questions part of the fun in high scores is lost completely. Not to mention the online leaderboards just seem rigged since it doesn't explain how to get on the leaderboards so even if you get the maximum possible score it's not good enough. I honestly wish there was some sort of offline leaderboard so you could keep track of your own scores.
I'm sorry to hear about the glitch you encountered. Unfortunately, I made the game in less than 2 weeks for a game jam, so it currently has some bugs that I hope to fix once the voting phase is over. I understand that the final part may have been a bit too intense, even though I aimed to use a cardboard-style with very basic movements to evoke the feeling of a carnival game like whack-a-mole, to lighten up the intense situation.
Regarding the leaderboard, it's based on kills and counts the points earned in the last mini-game, plus points for eliminating other participants. It shows everyone with the same score because I never expected so many people to play it, and they essentially achieved the maximum score.
The game is definitely incomplete, and there are many things to improve and fix. Consider it more as a proof of concept. I hope to enhance and expand it into a fully-fledged game in the future.
This was really creative, didn't realize Acerola was hosting a game jam. I put the dude's videos on in the background a lot to pretend I know anything about graphics programming lmao. The gameshow felt like an SCP entry, and I think the concept would be really sick to expand upon! All the dialogue was pretty great too, had fun reading the host's lines.
This game was soooo gooodddd especially for a game made within 14 days!!! i love the serial killer questions i felt like i was a lil too good at this game lol!!
This was such a fun game to play! Loved the different choices in dialogue and mini-games! The game actually made me feel like I was in the game show! Can't wait for more updates and/or projects!
I had a really fun time recording & editing the footage for this game. Hope you enjoy it as I did, and looking forward to future work/potential updates.
Played this, though it was cool. Would be really interesting to see it fleshed out in to a full game, with things like random elements to the games and questions.
I really liked the game. There is tension in mini-games and you start to question whether it is right, even though it is within a game. Congratulations! ALL ENDINGS HERE:
I loved your game! It could easily become a movie and I wouLd watch it! I felt so bad for Sarah and idk about Edgar. Was he a cop or something? Either way I loved it. The end game was CRAZY.
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you enjoyed it! Edgar is a mysterious character, and while Sarah and Richard are clearly good and evil, he falls in the middle ground. He tends to be good, but having already won the show, he knows the rules and doesn't hesitate to coldly eliminate his opponents.
Well, that was truly something. To be made only in 14 days and have so many mechanics, immersion and replayability really shows your skill when it comes to a quick-fire indie horror.
I particularly liked the whole aesthetic, with the gameshow aspect - reminds me of the upcoming horror film 'Late Night With The Devil.' The mini-games were a welcome touch, as was the palpable sense of unease as each round began. I thought I was a goner after my 'moralistic' choice was made and Sarah wasn't my best friend anymore...
I didn't have much time to go through other scenarios, and having read some of the other comments I doubt I would have got all the endings! In any case, I definitely think there could be scope more more rounds, other contestants and endings. Loved the trivia section.
Best of luck with the gamejam - definitely a worthy contender!
Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the game and it was fun watching your gameplay. I'll definitely check out the movie you mentioned.
Pretty cool. An improvement would be to change the host's responses based on the succeeding rounds' answers picked, because it looks like he says the same thing each time for any answer to the "moral" questions.
It would be pretty good for immersion and replayability if that change were added.
Leaderboard is a nice touch. I wonder if it's possible to get a score higher than 50K and 39.
Thank you so much for the feedback, and good job on the score!
Yes, the game is a bit rough since I made it in less than 2 weeks for the game jam, and it still needs some polishing, especially in the dialogues as you suggested.
Definitely, after the voting phase, I'll update the game with various fixes. And who knows, in the future, I might even update it with more mini-games, participants, and other content.
Regarding the leaderboard, yes, at the moment, I think that's the max limit.
Thank you for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed the game! You got the "Hollow Victory" ending because you won by following the rules of the game, without taking any aberrant actions. In the game, with some choices, you can force the death of other participants by manipulating or cheating.
They're different ways to win the game based on the number of contestants you cause the death of, through cheating, manipulation, and dialogue choices.
"Hollow Victory" is obtained without being directly responsible for the death of a contestant, "Murderer" when you are forcing the death of at least one contestant, and "Aberration" when you make the most aberrant choices in the game, and force the death of all contestants.
Really good game! just to let you know there's a bug, if you die and restart the game wont let you continue at a certain point after skipping dialogue. the person who posted the video below me has the bug at the end
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, it seems like this bug is occurring frequently when starting a new run. Just closing and reopening the game should fix the issue.
I'll definitely work on improving the game's stability in future updates.
Wow this game was really good i didn't expect the game knows where country i live anyway really good looking game and sound really good well done keep it up!

It would be great if the game had more than one language.
Thanks for the feedback! In the final version of the game, I'm planning to include support for multiple languages

I hasd a really good time thank you very much!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this! Loved the style and the replayability!
Thank you so much! The ending cracked me up, I should have put that option disabled by default (you're not the only one who discovered it only later)
Does anyone know how to stop them from voting you out because I've done about 20 playthroughs and they vote me every time no matter who's left.
The other characters vote are based on your previous actions and their own morals.
Spoiler alert from here on out!!
You can survive the vote in different ways, depending on who's left in the game:
Really interesting game. I reminds me of the Weakest link ironically instead of Who wants to be a Millionaire. Keep it up.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont
Thanks for playing! Glad you found it interesting!

Thank you for the feedback! Yes I had a blast participating in this jam, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!
Thank you!

THis game was fire. Hope you continue to add on to it!
Thanks a lot!
Played this, though it was cool. Would be really interesting to see it fleshed out in to a full game, with things like random elements to the games and questions.
Thank you so much for the feedback and suggestions! I'm seriously considering the idea of continuing to work on it

Ending 3:Ending 1:
Thank you so much!
Loved the game! made me question myself lol poor sarah tho! I see the game having many episodes :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Stay tuned for more episodes - I'll definitely update the game with new participants and more content.
Ohhh!!! LORE! Love it! I have to play again for the other two endings :D
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

COOL!!!
A Horror Video game that takes place on an In-universe Game Show;
What took so long for People to start making Horror games inspired by Game Shows[and I don't mean that Scary As Fudge 2000s NBC Show]
Thank you so much! Yes, I also think it's a great combination. Who knows, maybe this little concept could be expanded upon.
Loved both the trivia aspect and the actual tension from seeing the scoreboards going up during the games. Great work on making a gameshow unsettling!
Thank you for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed the game! You got the "Hollow Victory" ending because you won by following the rules of the game, without taking any aberrant actions. In the game, with some choices, you can force the death of other participants by manipulating or cheating.
Anybody know what the difference between the Hollow Victory, Murderer and Abberation endings are? I keep getting the middle one.
I love the game, but i somehow just keep getting the death ending.
Thanks a lot! Keep trying, you can make it!
What part are you struggling on? Because I know a skip...
Great Horror Game. I got three out of four endings. One of them is Abberation
Wow, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
This game was really good! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
